What animals will you see at la Punta Gruesa? This area has large extensions of coral and sea fan that provides the appropriate conditions to form breeding areas for many marine species. It also brings sea birds such as blue footed boobies, pelicans and frigates. This place is appreciated by native divers and artisanal fishermen because of its richness in marine species that are commercially exploited. You will find lobsters, sea urchins, octopus, starfish, sea cucumber, seahorses, and many other animals. One of the main attractions is the Spondylus shell, also known as the “food of gods” and “red gold”, once used as Inca currency.
